Summer wildlife fair

2026 Summer Wildlife Fair

Friday 31 July from 11am-2pm

A highlight of the Old Brickfield year is its summer wildlife fair. We celebrate the wonderful diversity of nature on the field and encourage children (and grownups) to explore its wildlife. There are nature activities as well as games, crafts - and lots of home made cake!.

Everything is free although small donations are always welcome.

Willow weaving

In Marianne’s willow weaving workshop, we learn how willow is coppiced and prepared for weaving and make willow dragon flies and swifts to take home. Marianne has been a basketmaker since 2006, using natural materials of foraged hedgerow from the Sussex and Kent landscape.
